A LEGENDARY PHOTOGRAHERS RETURN TO YPSILANTI

Ypsilanti, Mich.  -- Leni Sinclair, a renowned photographer, whose lens captured Michigan’s greatest rock and roll, blues and jazz artists from the 1960s to the present, displayed her photography and greeted fans, Saturday, December 15, at The Wolverine Grill, in downtown Ypsilanti.
“We invited Leni Sinclair to come back to Ypsilanti to show her work and sell photo prints of their favorite Michigan rock stars, many of whom have ties to Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor and the surrounding area,” said Kevin Hill, proprietor of The Wolverine Grill and active supporter of downtown Ypsilanti.
Leni Sinclair and husband John Sinclair founded the Ann Arbor movement that included the Trans-Love Energies commune, the management of the MC5 rock band, and various counter-culture political activities that shook the nation.
In addition to the MC5, her best known music subjects were The Stooges, John Lennon and nearly every well-known act that played in Detroit during the 1960s and 70s.
